Summer Registration Information

Elementary schools are now closed for the summer months. If you require assistance regarding your child's transportation, registration or for new registrations, please contact the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board's summer registration office at 705-494-3888. Elementary school offices will be reopening August 27, 2018.

St. Joseph-Scollard Hall will remain open through the summer months. All transportation and registration questions can be directed to student services at 705-494-8600 ext 40234.

NPSC Approves 2018-2019 Budget

At its regular meeting held June 26, 2018, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) approved its 2018-2019 budget for submission to the Ministry of Education. The budget focuses on programs and services that directly benefit students and is compliant with Ministry of Education balanced budget legislation. Senior Kindergarten Starting September 6, 2018

A note to all parents and guardians of Senior Kindergarten students. This year, all Senior Kindergarten students will begin school on Thursday, September 6, 2018. This is a change from our previous practice of Senior Kindergarten students beginning on the first Monday of the second week in September.

Transportation arrangements will continue to be available as per our past practice and will begin on the new start date of September 6, 2018.

St. Luke Raises Funds for Ryan's Well

Congratulations to Ms Hamelin's class who raised over $1,900 for the Ryan's Well Foundation. Ryan's Well builds wells and provides safe drinking water for communities in developing countries. So great to see our young leaders developing their global citizenship! Way to go!

NPSC Celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day with a variety of activities in schools across our district. Our Lady of Sorrows hosted a day of learning and celebrating through a series of engaging workshops and a pow wow in the afternoon. Other schools participated in activities such as mask making, pow wows, medicine wheel teachings and much more. Miigwetch to all of our staff, students, volunteers and community partners for providing such rich learning opportunities for our students!

SJSH Receives Gold Level Status

NPSC is pleased to share that St. Joseph-Scollard Hall has been awarded gold level Ecoschool status again this year! The Ontario Ecoschool Program is designed to empower students to have a positive impact on their school communities, by leading environmental projects and sharing important knowledge with their peers. Special thank you to Kylie Sullivan and Hope Delongchamp for leading this important initiative this year!

All students ages 10 and up are invited participate in the upcoming speed and conditioning training camp, hosted by Canadian Olympian Ben Johnson and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall graduate, Nick Laporte. Students from elementary schools across NPSC had a blast designing, building and testing their own cardboard boats this month as a culminating activity for their curriculum learning. The activity helped to demonstrate the importance of studying Science, Mathematics, and Technology in a fun, practical and interactive manner.
