Bears Drama Take Home Award of Excellence

Congratulations to the Cast of "Deliver Us Not!" who won an award of excellence for ensemble work and outstanding production at the National Theatre School Drama Festival. The group will be performing April 19-21 at the regional festival.

Catholic Education Week is taking place May 6- May 11 and the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is celebrating with a variety of school events throughout the week. This year, the theme is Renewing the Promise. NPSC Choir Festival - May 17

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board was pleased to host our Annual Outdoor Choir Festival, May 17, 2018. Schools from across the district gathered at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall to take part in the event, sharing in a morning of song and music. Special thank you to Kevin from Kiss 100.5 for being our Master of Ceremony again this year.

Upcoming Auditions: Chicago

Summer Challenge is an enrichment art course offered through the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board summer school program. This program provides youth entering grade 7 through grade 12 the opportunity to develop acting, singing, dancing, and production skills while earning credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. 

Summer Challenge will be hosting auditions for the 2018 production, Chicago, Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. For more information visit summerchallenge.npsc.ca/

2018/2019 School Calendar Now Available

2018/2019 School Calendar Now Available

At the February 27, 2018, NPSC Board meeting, the School Year Calendar was recommended and approved by the Board of Trustees. The school year will begin on Thursday, August 30, 2018 for staff and Tuesday, September 4, 2018 for students. The school year will end on June 28, 2019 for both students and staff. This recommendation has been approved by the Ministry of Education. Please see the attachment below for more information. We would like to thank all parents, community members and staff for their participation.

Insights and Sounds April 25

St. Joseph-Scollard Hall's annual "Insights and Sounds" will be held Wednesday, April 25. The event will feature a visual art gallery viewing at 6 p.m., and a lineup of performances in music, dance, video production, and drama at 6:30 p.m. in the Bishop Carter Auditorium.

Tickets are $5 at the door.

We are pleased to announce St. Joseph-Scollard Hall will be sending four students (two groups) to the National Science Fair Competition this May. In total, six groups participated in the regional science fair, with several participants receiving special awards of recognition. St. Alexander Student Takes Home Gold

Congratulations to Vincent Palangio, who won the first place medallion for the Science on the Wall-Primary Award at the North Bay Regional Science Fair this year. As part of the class unit on Matter: Solids, Liquids and Gases, Vincent used household ingredients to cause an exothermic reaction. He used the science and technology problem-solving steps when he encountered challenges to his hypotheses. Way to go Vincent!

Students and staff at St. Gregory School are celebrating a donation of $2,500 worth of books from the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation. Thank you to the team at Coles Bookstore in North Bay for 'adopting' St. Gregory and bringing these fantastic new books to our students!
