How We Know We Are Succeeding
Assessing Student Progress
Provincial testing is another we assess our students. EQAO conducts an annual review of Reading, Writing and Mathematics for all grade 3 and 6 students in May of each school year. This assessment provides useful information on student achievement to parents, schools, boards and the province. Students were assigned a score between level 1 (the lowest) and level 4 (the highest). Students who achieved level 3 and 4 have met the provincial expectations. The data below summarizes the achievement level of grade 3 and 6 students in the May 2011 assessment.

Plans For the Future
School Staff at Corpus Christi believe in the concept of lifelong learning. As such, staff seek opportunities as a professional learning community at our school and professional development opportunities with our school board to enhance their own Professional Development through evening workshops, day workshops and summer institutes. This Professional Development enables the Staff to enhance their delivery of the Ontario Curriculum, which in turn assists students in the development of knowledge and skills. In recent years the grade 3 and 6 Provincial Assessment has provided valuable data to our school which has allowed the school to continuously improve and focus its energies in specific areas of the teaching/learning process. In addition, literacy, numeracy and oral language development will continue to be a focus in all grade levels. Our staff meets at least once a month as a professional learning community to identify student strengths and areas for continued growth.
