It was built in 1964 as a senior elementary school with facilities for Music, Industrial Arts and Home Economics. Schools with intermediate classes transport their students to the school for instruction in these areas.
In 1980, Mother St. Bride School became a K - 8 school. In 1994, the board initiated a junior learning skills class at Mother St. Bride School and in September 1997 an intermediate learning skills class was started.
Presently, Mother St. Bride School continues to provide instruction from Junior Kindergarten to grade eight. It also receives students from St. Alexander's Junior Elementary School for grade seven and eight instruction. The School continues to provide programs in the specialized areas to all of the board's schools for music, design & tech and family studies.
Two years ago the YMCA began an afterschool program free to families grade one to six. This program runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:15pm to 6:15pm

How We Live Our Catholic Faith
Mother St. Bride School endeavours to provide a peaceful environment that nurtures the growth of a faith community physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially based on the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
The faith community of our school reflects its gospel base through its hospitable environment, the presence of sacred imagery, the respect shown all persons and the religious atmosphere.
The staff place high priority on their own faith development by participating in annual retreats, seasonal prayer experiences and frequent catechetical/theological updates and by their ownership of the religious mission of our school system.
The religious curriculum provides a doctrinally sound, balanced, sequential, developmentally appropriate and integrated presentation of the essential content of the Christian message.
Service projects are an essential part of the curriculum at all levels and student-reflection on the service opportunity is seen as integral at all levels.
Our school is involved with several community projects:
- Breakfast and Snack Program
- Food Bank
- Indian Friendship Centre
- Share Lent Projects
