We have a large double gym, a renovated chapel and a 550 seat auditorium. We have an excellent staff of 112 teachers and educational assistants who work tirelessly to offer a full and rich program to our students.

Community Relations

Our school builds a relationship with our community by giving to those who are in need. Each year the student body earn thousands of dollars for charities. Our senior students perform outreach services wherein they help the young, the old, and the needy. Our students will have provided 15000 pounds of food to the shelves of the local food bank and of parish food cupboards.

School facilities are made available to little league soccer teams of both sexes, and our track is open to the needs of all elementary and secondary teams who need a place to practice.

Catholic School Advisory Council

The Catholic School Advisory Council meets on the last Tuesday of most months. This group advises the principal on all issues that pertain to the life and activities of the school.

"The Faith Dimension of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall"

As a faith-based Catholic Secondary School, St. Joseph-Scollard Hall provides our students with opportunities to develop spiritually as well as academically. This intent is captured in the motto which is prominently displayed in the front foyer: "Act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God."

During the school year opportunities are offered for our school community to come together to pray and to undertake many charitable acts that emanate from our collective conviction "That in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me" (Matthew 25;40)

Every day begins with prayer over the P.A. Often, students or staff request prayers for a special personal intention or the prayer may highlight an international need or perhaps the liturgical season e.g. Advent or Lent.

Every grade level at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall comes together during the school year for a Eucharistic celebration developed around a theme chosen by the liturgy committee representing that grade. By the end of Semester #1 there were 7 Eucharistic celebrations held in our Chapel and one at the Pro-Cathedral (Annual Advent Liturgy with Bishop Plouffe). There were approximately 100 students involved in the preparation and of the liturgies as readers, ushers, or musicians. They worked with the chaplain and presiding clergy to make these celebrations meaningful opportunities to pray and reflect together as a believing community.

In addition, special liturgies will be prepared for Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Mother's Day, and Graduation.

Students and staff put faith into action by donating time to participate in food drives not only to help stock the North Bay Food Bank but also to support parish food cupboards. This year St. Peter's and Corpus Christi Parishes benefited from the generosity of our school community.

This Lent students will be invited to join a school-based Youth Group devoted to faith issues of interest to young people.

These events and activities supplement the religion courses that are a necessary part of student course selection at our school.
