Commitment to Inclusive School Communities 2021

NPSC's Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusive School Communities
Posted on 05/29/2021
The month of June is designated as PRIDE month in Canada, a sign and symbol of love and inclusion.  Our Catholic schools are committed to nurturing safe and inclusive learning environments where every student and every member of the community is welcomed, valued, and respected.

By focusing on creating environments where students together with our staff are empowered to lead the way in the creation of healthy school environments that encompass diversity in all forms.  Pride month is an opportunity for NPSC schools to raise awareness and to confirm our commitment to acceptance, well-being for all, and to student voice.  Every year, and especially during the last year of the pandemic, we commend and are grateful for the work of our students and staff to spread the message of acceptance and focus on the mental health and well-being of everyone in our Catholic schools.

As Catholics, we are called to love and celebrate one another, just as God loves and celebrates each one of us. We honour the inherent dignity in each other by treating one another with care, compassion, and respect.  We believe that we are wonderfully made in the image and likeness of a God who created us and loves us unconditionally – just as we are.
