Family Enrichment

The Family Enrichment Program is a targeted resource program for parents and their children age birth to four. It is sponsored by the Catholic Schools Foundation of Nipissing-Parry Sound and the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board. The Catholic Schools Foundation raises funds for the Children’s Program and employs a Program Director, an Administrative Assistant and three Children’s Program staff. A large number of volunteers also work directly with the children.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic School Board provides a teacher, custodian, school bus transportation as well as administrative support for the credit portion of the program. The program is housed in a School Board building.

For the Family

For the Parent

  • High school credits (adult education) in Family Studies, Personal Life Management and Guidance
  • Assistance when stressed by inadequate physical, social and personal resources
  • Knowledge of normal child development and care
  • An environment for peer, parent, child, staff and volunteer interaction
  • Child management through role modeling and education
  • Positive parenting

For the Child

  • Quality infant, toddler and preschool programs, using a high number of volunteers      with staff
  • An individual approach in assisting with all areas of development
  • Nutritious snacks
  • Access to gymnasium
  • Referrals when appropriate

There is no charge for this program. All services are free! Continuous entry; tax receipts are available.
