Internationally Renowned Graffiti Artist Collaborates with Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School

During a 3-day workshop in January, Mme Courtemanche’s Grades 3-8 Core French students from Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School had the wonderful experience of creating graffiti art alongside Mique Michelle, an internationally renowned graffiti artist who grew up in Field, Ontario.  






Mique uses graffiti as a way to create awareness about the oppression that visible and invisible minorities face. During the workshop, she provided meaningful activities and opportunities for students to develop and apply their French language skills as well as learn about diversity and inclusion while painting alongside her.  She hopes to bring messages of courage, hope and honour in her works of art, which can be found in our local community.
