The Board of Trustees of the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Ralph Celentano as Trustee representing the Municipality of West Nipissing.

A graduate of Scollard Hall, Ralph brings a diverse professional background to the role. He served as a paramedic with the North Bay Ambulance Service for more than 15 years before completing a Diploma in Business – Accounting at Canadore College. Ralph also has more than 20 years of extensive experience in sales and fundraising, further strengthening his commitment to service and community engagement.

A member of the Knights of Columbus and devoted parishioner at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption, Ralph is a dedicated community leader and strong advocate for Catholic education with a rich history of supporting youth and families. He has served North Bay and area communities over many years and continues his volunteer work with organizations such as Tracy’s Heart and Hands; Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay; and the North Bay Heritage Railway and Carousel Company.

Mr. Celentano fills a vacancy left by Trustee John Willemsen, who submitted his resignation on February 24, 2026, in order to relocate to Alberta to be closer to family. Mr. Celentano’s term is effective immediately for the remainder of the current term of the Board, ending on November 14, 2026.

At a Special Meeting held on March 10, 2026, the Board agreed to fill the vacancy by appointment in accordance with section 221(1)(a) of the Education Act. Following an Expression of Interest application process, the Board confirmed Mr. Celentano’s appointment at a Special Meeting held on May 19, 2026.
