From May 29 to June 7, 2025, we joyfully join the Institute for Catholic Education and Catholic communities across Ontario in the Novena to the Holy Spirit.
This sacred tradition invites all those involved in and who care for Catholic education in our province to unite in prayer for nine days - culminating in the celebration of the Feast of Pentecost on Sunday, June 8.
A novena is an ancient and cherished form of prayer in the Catholic Church, consisting of nine consecutive days of prayer leading up to a significant feast. It is a time to seek particular blessings or graces, and to deepen our spiritual connection with God.
This year's novena - the oldest in the Church - prepares our hearts for Pentecost, the day we commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. It is a powerful reminder of the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives and our Catholic schools.
We invite our entire Catholic education community to journey with us through this novena. Each day includes a special theme and prayer, which we have provided below. We also encourage you to explore the Institute for Catholic Education's 9-day
Novena to the Holy Spirit.
Let us come together in faith, hope, and unity as we prepare to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We invite you to visit our website each day to reflect on the daily theme and prayer as we journey together through the Novena to the Holy Spirit.
