NPSC Honours the Life of Justice Murray Sinclair - January 24, 1951 – November 4, 2024

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) unites with all Canadians in mourning the recent passing of the Honourable Murray Sinclair. As Chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), Justice Sinclair had a remarkable impact on Canada and inspired our Board through the Calls to Action to ensure that our pedagogy and curriculum is responsive and inclusive, celebrating Indigenous history, perspectives, language, culture and contributions.
In order to honour and express our immense respect for Justice Sinclair’s extraordinary life of service and inspiring contributions to education throughout Canada, NPSC has lowered our flags to half-mast until November 12, 2024. As we take time to remember the remarkable life of Justice Murray Sinclair, let us reflect on the exceptional impact of his unwavering commitment to education and to the importance of understanding the true history of our country for all Canadians fostered through his life's work.
May we honour the legacy Justice Sinclair has left for future generations by walking the path together of justice, healing, truth and reconciliation.
NPSC extends our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the family of Murray Sinclair and to all those lives he touched through his compassionate life of service.
Chi-Miigwech Justice Murray Sinclair for your service to others and for the immeasurable impact you have had on our Canadian society.
