Welcoming Dr. Tom D'Amico

NPSC Joyfully Welcomes Dr. Tom D'Amico for System PA Day
Posted on 10/16/2025

On Monday, October 20, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board will come together for a system-wide Professional Activity (PA) Day — a special opportunity for all teaching staff to gather in one place for shared learning and reflection.

This year’s PA Day marks an exciting milestone in our Board’s ongoing journey to build AI literacy as an educational tool in support of student success. During the day, NPSC will officially launch its AI Guiding Principles, developed to ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI in education, grounded in a human-centred approach that reflects our Catholic beliefs and Gospel values.

We are delighted and deeply honoured to welcome Dr. Tom D’Amico, retired Director of Education from the Ottawa Catholic School Board, as our featured keynote speaker. Drawing on his wealth of experience, Dr. D’Amico will share insights on the transformative potential of AI in education, showcasing how Catholic educators can embrace innovation while remaining rooted in faith.

We are profoundly grateful for Dr. D'Amico's presence and guidance as we thoughtfully navigate this new and important area in Catholic education.

Further details about the PA Day and Dr. D’Amico’s presentation can be found in the flyer below.
