In Catholic tradition, each month of the year is dedicated to a particular aspect of our faith. For example, March is traditionally dedicated to St. Joseph, and May to the Blessed Virgin Mary. June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inviting us to reflect more deeply on Christ's love, mercy, and compassion.

From June 3 – 12, 2026, we join the Institute for Catholic Education and Catholic communities across Ontario in praying the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

A novena is an ancient and cherished form of prayer in the Catholic Church, consisting of nine consecutive days of prayer leading up to a significant feast. This year, we unite in prayer as we prepare for the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, celebrated on June 12, a feast that reminds us of Christ’s boundless love for each of us.

Through this prayerful journey, we continue walking together as Pilgrims of Hope on the Path to Holiness, intentionally seeking ways to draw closer to God in faith, love, and service.

We warmly invite our entire Catholic education community to pray the novena alongside us. Each day includes a dedicated theme and prayer, which are provided below to support your reflection.
