As the first week of Advent draws to a close, we are pleased to highlight students and staff from across our School Board who took part in Haleyfest at the Betty Speers Theatre stage at the Capitol Centre on Tuesday, December 3 and Wednesday, December 4.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is proud to highlight a feature by BayToday.ca North Bay about St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Grade 12 student and Indigenous Student Trustee, Cheyney Chevrier.

We welcome families and staff to weekly Advent prayers (click 'read more') by NPSC Board Chaplain Father Joseph de Viveiros, CR, to use at home to assist with Scripture readings, lighting Advent Wreaths, questions for personal reflection, and songs during the Advent season!

At its organizational meeting held on Tuesday November 26, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board appointed by acclamation Shawn Fitzsimmons as Chair and Jacques Bégin as Vice-Chair. This marks the second consecutive year for both trustees in these roles, providing for continuity in leadership for the Board.

NPSC was delighted to visit The Gathering Place on November 27 to present a donation of $2,521 raised through the recent NPSC Charity Volleyball Tournament, which has become a regular community engagement event. NPSC is pleased to have raised $4,175 to date through these tournaments to support The Gathering Place.

It is with great pride and excitement that we announce our Board Chaplain, Father Joseph de Viveiros C.R., has been invited to be the bi-monthly editorialist for Living With Christ. This subscription publication, produced by Novalis, is a resource used by Catholic communities across Canada, including NPSC to support faith formation and development. "Read more" for details.

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is pleased to provide parents and guardians with details on the seven (7) planned Professional Activity (PA) Days for the 2024-2025 school year.

Ventilation and/or air filtration is a key element in the multi-layered strategy to support healthy and safe learning environments for students and staff. All ventilation systems at NPSC schools have been assessed to prioritize improvements. System inspections are on-going and will continue during the school year to ensure systems are operating properly. Please "read more" for details.

Student success and well-being are important. If you are the parent of a student or you yourself are a student who is struggling or feeling unable to cope, please be aware there are many ways to seek help, including the many supports offered by the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board Mental Health Team.
