Child Care

Introduction

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board hosts a variety of third party operators in its schools. This page offers you a description of the programs available.

For our youngest learners, child care is often their first introduction to a school environment and can support the transition to Kindergarten. Programs offer early learning opportunities, designed to promote gross and fine motor skills and language, cognitive, social and emotional development.

Determining Viability

Each Spring, a survey entitled “The Childcare Program Needs Survey” is available to all families in the region in both digital and paper versions.  The goal of this survey is to understand the needs for childcare programs for school-aged children and to assist with child care program and service planning. The data collected from this survey is used to determine childcare program feasibility and the types of programs required.

Child Care Fee Subsidy (copyright: DNSSAB website)

Child care fee subsidy is a program that is intended to help families with the cost of their child care expenses. It supports eligible families by paying a portion of their total licensed child care costs as funding permits.

Fee subsidy offers an essential support for many families, helping them balance the demands of a career and family while working, pursuing education or participating in a training program.
